Fly Me to the Moon at Imax Theatre

In 1969, three astronauts dared go where no man had gone before; the moon. Today, Wave Pictures is creating an animated feature that will take you back to that historic moment. Its immersive 3D images will put you into the action, a part of the story.

Wave Pictures is one of the largest producers of original 3D material for IMAX theaters and theme parks. The company’s first feature, Fly Me to the Moon is the first-ever computer animated film designed, created and produced from first frame, exclusively for the 3D experience.

Fly Me to the Moon combines the Apollo 11 mission with a whimsical twist involving three tweenaged flies who go along on an incredible space adventure. The film introduces new generations to space exploration and the historic moment when the world was united for this awe-inspiring achievement. A G-rated family film, the story is voiced by Kelly Ripa, Christopher Lloyd, Nicollette Sheridan, Tim Curry and a live action/animation cameo by real-life Apollo 11 astronaut, Buzz Aldrin.

3D is a different type of cinema. When you watch a 2D film you relate to it on an intellectual level and an emotional level. With 3D you also have a very strong physical level, the ability to feel that you are literally in the environment — a part of the story.

Today’s 3D is a new frontier for cinema, one without boundaries, and one with incredible potential to propel the movie-going experience into a new realm. Like those intrepid travelers back in 1969, Fly Me to the Moon takes viewers to a place they have never been before.

Fly Me to the Moon is now showing at San Miguel Coca Cola IMAX Theatre at SM Mall of Asia.
