Pupil music video wins NY award

Pupil’s music video Set Me Apart, theme song for Animax in Asia, recently bagged the BDA gold honor for Best Music Video or Short Subject at the recent Promax/BDA Design Awards 2008 held in New York.

Written by Pupil in 2007 for Animax, the music video for Set Me Apart was shot in Manila, and was designed and post-produced by Malaysian animation studio hue visualab, as well as directed and executive produced by Animax Asia. Made in an animé-inspired visual style characteristic of the channel, the award-winning music video featured the band members as animated characters and was aired on Animax across Asia and on-line to wide acclaim.

“We are so honored to have been part of the production,” said lead vocalist Ely Buendia.

Promax/BDA is the world’s premier body for promotion and marketing professionals working in electronic and broadcast media as well as multimedia designers. Its members include media professionals from over 70 countries worldwide.

With this achievement comes another reason for Pupil fans to be happier as the band releases its second single Disconnection Notice still off the sophomore album Wildlife. The single has topped NU 107’s Stairway To Seven countdown for weeks and still on heavy rotation on top radio stations. Its music video directed by Quark Henares promises to be another visual treat and will premiere on music channels.

Wildlife is available in CDs at record stores nationwide.
