As a Tagalog saying goes, No matter how long the procession, it will surely end up in church.
True enough, the wedding that almost never was (due to the wrangling of the two families involved) was finally solemnized yesterday afternoon at the Manila Cathedral, and the couple, Inah Revilla and Vince del Rosario must have heaved a deep sigh of relief — and so did their parents, Sen. Bong Revilla and wife Lani Mercado, and Jorge del Rosario and wife Angela Diaz da Roza.
It was Bong’s first time to give away a daughter. Contrary to what he promised, Bong cried a river. So did Lani and Inah.
The event brought together the gliterrati of business, showbiz and politics. Among the principal sponsors were Senate Pres. Manny Villar, Senators Mar Roxas and Pia Cayetano, Rep. Imee Marcos, Sec. Ronaldo Puno, ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio, GMA head lawyer Felipe Gozon, Second Lady Arlene de Castro and Manny V. Pangilinan.
Inah, who’s turning 19 in October, and Vince, 24, are expecting a child in October.
As they promised Lani, Inah and Vince will finish their studies (she at Ateneo and he at Mapua) before having another baby.
With the “honeymoon” over, the newly-weds will start their own family at a P10-M condo unit in Forbes Park, Makati City, given to them as gift by Vince’s parents. — RICKY LO
