Aptly named, Juno Justiniano represents a lot of great things to the people who know her, among them: mother to her two daughters; wife to Alex, her husband of 20 years; and wonderful daughter and sister to her family.
To the ice-skating world, Juno is the successful owner of National V Entertainment (NVE), a US-based production company behind highly-acclaimed shows like Legends on Ice, Ice Fusion and Melanj on Ice. NVE specializes in staging world-class ice shows that cater to international audiences, which have been to Long Beach, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Bermuda; and now in Asia.
In Jan. 2007, Juno will come to the Philippines to give her countrymen a chance to watch the show.
Juno Delfino Ilagan is the second of seven children of Jovencio and Zenaida Ilagan. She was born in Manila. Due to the needs of their growing family, the Ilagans moved many times when Juno was growing up. She graduated with a degree in Business Management minor in Accounting from FEU.
After working at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) for a few years, Juno decided to try her luck in America where she found the fulfillment of her dreams. When asked if it was an easy climb, Juno will tell you that it was a long hard road. She had to survive discrimination in the early 80s because of her race, and coped with the loneliness of being away from her family.
In time, Juno developed friendships and relationships that made her journey to the realization of her dreams happier and easier. She married Alex Justiniano in 1987; they have two beautiful daughters.
Professionally, Juno found a niche in doing production accounting for major Hollywood award-giving bodies (Oscar/Emmy), TV specials, reality shows and small-budgeted movies. Juno was able to bring her parents and siblings to the US (only one brother remains in the Philippines).
Juno is living her dream and is successful in business. She has a beautiful family and is surrounded by people she loves and who loves her.
Junos strong faith in the Lord and her love for her family, ultimately, her fellowmen, have helped Juno succeed. Anyone who knows Juno describes her as a person who is honest in her dealings and who is a "doer." Juno has never been one to just sit and dream; she sets her mind on her goals.
Once, she told her sister that a year before they moved into their house in California, she had resolved to have her own house. And sure enough, a year later, she and her husband had one.
For Juno, to dream is to act and to bring happiness to the people you love.
In 2007, Junos another dream becomes a reality as she brings to her fellow Filipinos Melanj on Ice, slated at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium starting on Jan. 25.
(The staging of Melanj on Ice is presented by National V Entertainment, together with its Philippine counterpart JADI Productions, in cooperation with the Philippine Sports Commission. It is supported by Private Eyes with Randy Santiago at the helm of its Philippine production. Proceeds from the show are earmarked for Team Philippines. Tickets are available at all Ticketnet outlets, the Araneta Coliseum box-office and all SM Customer Service Area. For inquiries, call 713-9907.)
