Not your ordinary girl

With three terrific albums under her belt, Kyla has shown that she is far from ordinary. As she releases her fourth CD–the aptly titled Not Your Ordinary Girl –Kyla leaves no doubt that she is R&B royalty.

Not Your Ordinary Girl
may be considered Kyla’s best work yet. And with a whopping 15 tracks, Not Your Ordinary Girl isn’t an ordinary album, either. It sees Kyla covering songs of music industry’s bigwigs, and collaborating with some of the best songwriters and musicians in the country.

Human Nature,
Kyla’s cover of a Michael Jackson original, kicks off the album. Sung with ease and confidence, Kyla’s version of Human Nature becomes this light, breezy song that hooks the listener in no time.

Also included in the album are Kyla’s versions of an Ella Mae Saison classic, If The Feeling Is Gone, her oft-requested cover of ’Till They Take My Heart Away, a unique rendition of the timeless Because of You and Gary V’s What More Can I Say?

Stars have also expressed support by writing songs for Kyla. Not Your Ordinary Girl features Jay-R writing the easy, effortless title track; a couple of Keith Martin compositions, where in one song the American singer joins Kyla for a duet, as well as a composition from renowned songwriter Art Strong.

Kyla first won our hearts in 1993 when she bagged the Grand prize in Tanghalan ng Kampeon. After joining several talent competitions, losing some and winning most, Kyla was signed by EMI Philippines which immediately released her debut album, Way to Your Heart. After churning out hit singles–the biggest of which is the soaring Hanggang Ngayon–Kyla released a string of albums that contained big hits.

Kyla’s Not Your Ordinary Girl is a testament to just how extraordinary she is. She’s elegantly silly, stylishly sweet, grippingly talented.
