The reason is probably because Willie Nep is now busy with other things and obviously finds fulfillment in them. Besides, I cannot really imagine him dishing out Otso-Otso or Pito-Pito which is how novelty recordings sound these days. That is not him at all. So if he is not active in the music scene anymore, where can his fans go to enjoy Willie Neps kind of humor? They can watch him live and his comedy act is certainly one of the most popular hereabouts. And here is another chance to watch his latest stage success, Willie Nep 4 President.
First presented for two nights last February, the show had Willie Nep doing his stand-ups of presidential candidates Fernando Poe Jr., Raul Roco and Panfilo Lacson plus other famous people. As expected he came across as very real that it was sometimes difficult for the audience to tell if it is indeed the real person or just Willie Nep. This ability to take on other identities coupled with his quick wit, his astute assessment of the qualities of the famous personalities and of the current political situation, resulted in another huge success.
So it is only natural that because of the great demand from many who were not there to watch the show, plus those who want to see it again, Willie Nep 4 President will be presented anew by M-Boom Enterprises. The repeat will be held at the Music Museum in Greenhills, tonight and tomorrow at 9 p.m.
Of course, there is no way that Willie Nep can look like President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. This is another president he is unable to imitate. The other one is Cory Aquino. You have to admit though that he was great as Ferdinand Marcos, Fidel Ramos and Joseph Estrada. But not to worry, Willie Nep will be supported by Rene "Ate Glow" Pacunla who can put on a strong resemblance to you know who. Also on hand will be radio commentator Kaye Dacer of DZMMs Aks Yon Agad and Usapang de Campanilla, the Bagong Dugo plus other special guests.
For ticket inquiries, you may get in touch with the Music Museum at telephone number 721-0635 or you may go direct to all Ticket World outlets at various branches of the National Bookstore.
