A buffet of delights

Why are buffets popular among us Filipinos? Maybe it’s because – owing to our fiesta-studded culture – we are inclined to celebrate at the drop of a hat. The sight of a long table groaning with food and the thought of feasting on so much with family or friends is enough – or so it seems – for us Filipinos to create a festive atmosphere. When we gather to enjoy a meal to our hearts’ content, we can expect to pass the time chatting animatedly and laughing heartily as well.

With so many buffets served in the metro, however, diners, of course, want to make sure they can savor a good meal without overshooting their budgets. Among the handful of dining venues in Metro Manila that offer Chinese buffets, there’s the sumptuous one offered by the Fishing Village. Diners will surely enjoy this particular buffet served in this restaurant at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Padre Faura because not only are the dishes delicious, they’re reasonably priced as well (for adults, it’s P350 net for lunch and P380 net for dinner; for children, P250 net for lunch and P280 net for dinner; bottomless softdrinks are at only P50 per person).

That it was chosen by the Consumers’ Union of the Philippines as the Most Outstanding Seafood Restaurant in Manila in 2002 attests to the quality of the food and service at Fishing Village. Its internationally-trained Chinese chefs ensure that the ingredients used are fresh and that the flavors live up to the diners’ standards. The restaurant management led by General Manager Erwin Moon are always on the look-out for quick yet friendly service as well as the venue’s cleanliness.
