Top culinary school has new managing director

The Philippines’ top culinary school, the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila), recently welcomed Dr. Veritas Luna, its new managing director. Luna, who has been a faculty member of the University of the Philippines–Diliman for more than 26 years, is now preparing to bolster the position of CCA, Manila as the leading culinary education institution in the country. A PhD Nutrition graduate, Luna also held previous administrative posts at the College of Home Economics (CHE-UP Diliman) including program coordinator of BS Community Nutrition. She was also chairperson of the Office of Community Extension and Service, chairperson of Committee to Review Common Courses at the Undergraduate and Graduate Courses of the CHE UP, chairperson of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition (CHE UP). “I have been disciplined to aim for nothing less than excellence,” said Luna. DLSU to hold Feb job expo

The Office of Counseling and Career Services (OCCS) will spearhead the first installment of the 2009 Job Expos of De La Salle University. The expo will be held on Feb. 2-6, 2009 at the Yuchengco Lobby and the Central Plaza of DLSU.

The DLSU Job Expo includes more than 120 companies. Sponsors are Globe Telecom, the Ayala Group of Companies, Procter and Gamble, Nestlé Philippines, IBM Business Services, Canon, and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum. Other sponsors include Coca-cola Export Corp., Hewlett Packard, Integrated Distribution Services, L’oreal Philippines, Pointwest Technologies, Security Bank, Soluziona, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Oracle, Thomson Reuters and Deutsche Knowledge Services.
