Toyota Philippines leads Batangas port revenue collection

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s leading automotive firm Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) was recognized as the top revenue contributor to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) - Port of Batangas (POB) as it remitted P23.66 billion in customs duties and taxes from January to July.

In a statement yesterday, TMP said that the achievement was announced during the BOC-POB’s 69th Founding Anniversary celebration held on Aug. 17, in Bauan, Batangas.

TMP said its remittance represents 16.4 percent of POB’s total revenue collection for the January to July period.

While TMP continued to account for the largest contribution to POB’s revenue collection, the company’s remittance eased compared to the same period last year.

TMP attributed this to headwinds and softer demand due to the energy crisis stemming from the Middle East conflict.

BOC-POB district collector Carmelita Talusan said that Batangas port was the highest-performing collection district during the seven-month period.

In July alone, the port recorded its highest single-month revenue collection.

Talusan expressed gratitude to all port stakeholders including TMP and other major automotive and energy industry partners for helping achieve the port’s milestone collection performance.

TMP is an Authorized Economic Operator Level 2 certified entity.

This status allows TMP to enjoy streamlined logistical operations through expedited customs clearance and dedicated processing lanes.

TMP’s Batangas Vehicle Center or logistics facility is located near the port.

The carmaker aims to continue to support nation-building, while ensuring the efficient delivery of automotive products and services to its customers.
