PNB 1st Philippines labor compliant bank
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has certified the Philippine National Bank (PNB) as an institution that is compliant with the department’s program and policies.
PNB is the first bank to be awarded in the Philippine banking industry after fulfilling the requirements on general labor and occupational safety and health standards.
“We congratulate PNB on this meaningful day. This is one solid proof that this leading banking institution lives up to its corporate values of trustworthiness, adaptability to change, team orientation, commitment, and sense of worth,” Labor Secretary Silvertre Bello III told bank officials and guests.
PNB president Reynaldo Maclang said the citation is a validation of the bank’s hard work as a responsible and labor-compliant banking institution.
“This is also a good way to cap our hundredth year in business and in service. We are committed to live up to our stature as the bank of the Filipino people in all aspects,” he said.
PNB chairperson Florencia Tarriela said the recognition is aligned with the bank’s brand promise of “You First.”
“This recognition from DOLE signifies PNB’s commitment to our own employees; their safety and welfare are important to us. As we look after our own people, we are able to serve the needs of our customers,” she added.
The certificates were issued to PNB after it passed the joint assessment conducted by labor inspection teams in July 2016. A certificate of compliance is valid for a period of two years unless revoked by the labor department.
