THE METROBANK FOUNDATION, INC. (MBFI) recently held the awarding ceremony of this year’s Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) at Le Pavillon, Metropolitan Park in Pasay City. Led by Metrobank Foundation president Aniceto Sobrepeña, Metrobank chairman Arthur Ty, Metrobank  senior adviser Dr. Antonio Abacan, Jr., Metrobank president Fabian Dee, and guests of honor Senator Loren Legarda and Spanish ambassador Luis Calvo, the MBFI awarded two painters and one sculptor the Grand Prize award under the Painting and Sculpture Recognitions category, while one artist was recognized with the Special Citation for his painting. All Grand Prize awardees of painting and sculpture recognition programs received fi nancial assistance and a glass trophy entitled “Mula,” designed by Noel El Farol. In addition, as part of MADE’s continuing support to artists, awardees for the Painting Recognition Program will receive a special grant upon launching their fi rst solo exhibition. The Outstanding Entries of Architecture Recognition Program, on the other hand, received Certifi cates of Recogni- tion for their visionary designs and critical explorations for the future of Philippine architecture.
