Cebu leg of PVL on Tour this weekend

CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano fans will be treated to a highly-entertaining, top-tier volleyball action this weekend via the Cebu leg of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour at the Recoletos Coliseum of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Basak Campus in Cebu City.

In the curtain-raiser of today’s double-header set at 4 p.m.,  the PLDT Home Fiber High Speed Hitters and the NXLED Chameleons will face off against each other in an exciting duel of unbeaten teams.

The High Speed Hitters and the Chameleons are currently on top of the table in Pool A with perfect 3-0 records.

In the main match at 6:30 p.m., the Farm Fresh Foxies will take on the listless Galeries Tower Highrisers.

The Foxies are at No.3 in the leaderboard with a 2-1 win-loss card while the Highrisers are still searching for a victory after three failed attempts.

Before the PVL games, the battle resumes in the inaugural Visayas V-League.

In the 7 a.m. opener, the USJ-R Lady Jaguars and the University of San Carlos (USC) Lady Warriors, both holding 4-0 slates, will size up each other before their finals showdown in the women’s division.

In the men’s category, the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will try to formalize their entry to the championship round as they tackle the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons at 9 a.m., while the USJ-R Jaguars and the USC Warriors aim for a graceful exit in their 1 p.m. clash.

On Sunday, July 27, the High Speed Hitters will take on the Highrisers at  4 p.m. while the Chameleons will collide against the Foxies at 6:30 p.m.
