CEBU, Philippines — Kit Ceron Garces of Prime Stags Stable hurdled what is by far the toughest test in his career after beating two-time world title challenger Robert “Super Inggo” Paradero of Bukidnon by unanimous decision in the main event of “Mano a Mano sa Sugbo” boxing card presented by Prime Stags Promotions in partnership with Winzir on Saturday, July 21, at the Skyhall of SM Seaside City.

The two protagonists put up a great and highly entertaining match to the delight of fans but it was the Talisay City-native Garces who earned the nod of all three judges after 10 rounds of explosive action with the scores of 96-64 and 97-93 twice.

“It was a great experience reaching ten rounds and winning. Many were pleased with our fight, and it felt great to defeat a veteran opponent,” said Garces.

Aside from stretching his record to 8-1 with 5KOs, the 25-year-old Garces also proved he’s already ripe for bigger fights ahead with his resounding victory.

“I’m excited for a title fight as I’m getting older,” said Garces.

That is the kind of road he’s going to take next.

“We’re aiming for a fight later this year, either in November or December. Given Kit’s convincing victory, we’re determined to secure a regional title for him,” said Prime Stags Sports president Atty. Jigo Dacua.

In the supporting bouts, Carlo Bacaro scored a smashing second-round stoppage of Jose Roda Jr., Michael Adolfo and John Ver Espra both prevailed by unanimous decision over Vergilio Silvano and Franz Carl Muyso, respectively, while Jhon Magos stopped Ronald Bulacan in round two.
