BJ Pepito lives up to lofty billing in Oslob motocross
CEBU, Philippines — Not even a bout with dengue can stop BJ Pepito from reasserting his dominance on the racetrack.
The multi-titled Cebuano daredevil courageously poured all his energy left on the way to reigning supreme in the pro open production of the 2nd Mayor Jun Tumulak Oslob Invitational Motocross over the weekend in Oslob town, south of Cebu.
The 20-year-old Pepito edged the veteran Jubenil Abellar for the top spot as Lance Quinicot settled for third place honors.
Pepito was doubly happy as the “Wonder Boy” from the municipality of Daanbantayan in northern Cebu also finished second in the expert division topped by Ehrjun Codeniera. Abellar came out third this time.
Interestingly, Pepito stamped his class in the exhilarating Oslob race just three days after he was being diagnosed with dengue fever by his doctor. He has recovered since then though.
On the other hand, Lance Quinicot caught part of the spotlight after lifting the champion’s trophy in the intermediate category. Clark Gualiza and Willie Borces wound up second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, race organizer Alan Rhey Padica extended his profound gratitude to all those who, in one way or another, have supported their highly successful sports show.
“It’s a wrap. That was a weekend full of adrenaline and fun,” said Padica. “Thank you to all the participants from Maasin, Bohol, Dumaguete, Negros, and Mindanao and all the people involved in this event.”
“Thank you Mayor Jun Tumulak for the time and support in making this possible. And of course to the sponsors particularly Malou Pepito of BP8 Racing, Alexius Celis, Kartina Tumulak, OZ Racing and Druid Project who make the event even better and highly successful. Thank you,” Padica ended.
