Bigger bounty at stake for SM 2 SM Run winners
CEBU, Philippines - A bigger cash prize amounting to half a million pesos is at stake for the winners of next year's SM 2 SM Run set for February 21.
The race features the 3K, 6K, 12K and 21K categories. There will be separate class for the Filipino and the foreign entries.
The champion in both the all-Filipino men and women's half marathon will get the biggest share of the pie as P60,000 has been set aside for each of them.
The second and third will take home P40,000 and P25,000, respectively, while the fourth to 10th placers will receive P3,000 apiece.
The top three in the 12K category will pocket P20,000, P10,000 and P7,000, while the rest who will make it to the top 10 are assured of P2,000 each.
In the 21K battle among foreigners, the champion will earn P15,000, while the second and third will net P10,000 and P7,000. The top three in the 12K will go home P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000 richer.
The other top three performers will win P10,000, P7,000 and P5,000 for the 6K and P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000 for the 3K.
Registration fee is pegged at P450 for the 3K and 6K, P650 for the 12K, and P800 for the 21K. Differently-abled persons and students will enjoy a P100 discount. A group of 10 will also get one free entry in all categories.
List up is now going on and ends on February 7 at the Northwing Atrium of SM City-Cebu (near Uniqlo) and at the Sports Avenue located at the upper ground floor. (FREEMAN)
