Besario tops 160K ultra marathon

CEBU, Philippines – Dumaguete City's Timmy Besario ruled yesterday's Cebu Ultra marathoners'Club's Adik Ug Dagan University-Tabuelan to Tabuelan battle which covered 160-kilometers.

Even if he is not familiar with the route, Besario of DARS/MDRC finished his first lung busting ultra marathon in 26 hours, 17 minutes and 51 seconds.

Another visiting ultramarathoner, Eli Loquere of BXU Runners Club of Butuan got the second place with 28:02:15.

CUC's own Cris Nalo ended his quest at third spot with 28:26:45 clocking.

Event organizer Tony C. Galon said, no female entry was declared champion in the women's side as none of them made it to the cut-off time of 32 hours. There were a total of 18 daring individuals who did the 160K action.

In the 100-kilometer action, Mandaue Runners Club's Marlon Ba-ay won the title with a time of 15:31:42.

Orven Delima of Team Igat placed second in 15:51:10 as ADR's Santonin Yu landed third with 17:31:52 clocking.

The distaff side,  Carmel Angel Yu also of Team ADR reigned supreme in 16:20:02, followed by Dalhia Urot of the Mandaue Runners Club with 17:39:22 while CUC's Shalee Delgado Angue settled for third in 18:00:12.
