Villaplaza, Carvajal shine in World Heart Day Run
CEBU, Philippines- Dr. Benjamin Villaplaza and Dr. Kristine Carvajal took a time out from their hospital work as they lead the cast in yesterday’s World Heart Day Fun Run at the Parkmall grounds in Mandaue City.
Villaplaza ruled the doctor’s 6K division as he finished the race in 26 minutes and 15 seconds, followed by Dr. Nario Manos in 27:21 as Dr.Bryan Belandres landed third in 27:25 clocking.
In the distaff side, Carvajal grabbed the women’s title in 31:28 against Emily Estrada with 30:35 as Weda Lim settled for third in 33:00.
Dr.Glen Ramirez (16:16) and Dr.Gladys Napigkit (19:52) won their respective division in the 3K category.
In the 6K pharma action, the men's division crown went to Vito Sayson with 28:27 clocking, while Eula Dorothy Mercado was unopposed in the girls' side and finished the race in 42:33.
An open division was also featured with Joseph Batoctoy (12:21) and Ina Velasco (17:13) winning their respective divisions in the 3K division. Regie Peralta (22:49) and Sheryl Raro (28:06) also topped the 6K class. (FREEMAN)
