The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines- The Convergys 2 Blue Devils continued to whack teams standing on their way, claiming the Teletech Titans as their latest victim, 71-53, in the 10th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Clifford Amarado sparkled with 21 points, four steals, three rebounds, and three assists for Convergys 2, which stayed as the only undefeated team this season with a winning streak of seven games, so far.

Convergys 2 was never threatened after cruising to a hot 71-23 start. The Blue Devils had an uneventful offensive in the middle quarters, but closed the match with a 28-9 bang to come up with an 18-point rout.

Jaygard Vios had 13 points, five steals and two rebounds, John Felix Cabahug added 11 points and three blocks but their efforts went futile as Teletech suffered its fifth loss against only two victories.

On the other hand, Archie Brian Vincent Batua exploded with 28 points, spiked with six rebounds and two assists as the Accenture Sharks trounced the Job Target Bandits, 91-54, to firm up its grip of the Division 1 lead with a 7-1 win-loss record.

Ryan Edward Llanos stepped up bigtime, finishing with 24 points, six assists, two steals and two rebounds for Accenture, which kept Job Target at bay since taking a huge 26-11 advantage after the first period.

After Accenture launched its second wave of attack, 20-5, that saw the Sharks up by 30 points at the break, 46-16, Job Target staggered into its sixth defeat into seven starts.

In the other games, the Telstra Boomerangs whipped the 24/7 Cagers, 91-24,  for their only second win in seven games, while the ePerformax Reds completed the quadruple rout by virtue of their 83-30 shellacking of the GGS Griffins.

Sam Jordan Hermoso topped Telstra with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals followed by Jonathan Delima with 18 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Rafael Jose Cuico and Brian Canares Abella each nailed 14 markers for ePerformax Reds, which kept the solo second spot in Division 2 with a 6-1 win-loss card. — /EBV) (FREEMAN)
