Zambo leads Cancham-Alta Vista Friendship Cup winners
CEBU, Philippines- Avelino ‘Jun’ Zambo fired four-over-par 76 strokes to lead the winners of last Saturday’s Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Cancham)-Alta Vista Golf and Country Club Friendship Cup played at the AVGCC course in Pardo, Cebu City.
Zambo fired nines of 37 and 39 to take the lowest gross honors for class A. Alejandro ‘Jun’ Dayot III took the lowest net plum with 73 strokes off a gross score of 83 while runner-up honors went to Dr. Rey Dira, who finished with a net score of 74 off a gross 84.
Wilky Lim topped class B with a gross score of 82 strokes off nines of 40 and 42. The lowest net honors went to Archie Villa with 70 strokes while runner-up honors went to Jojo Alquizola with 72.
Korean Joseph Shin took home the lowest gross plum for class C with 92 strokes while the lowest net honors went to Mark Tan with 70 and the runner-up honors to Willy T. Go, chairman of the club’s Monthly Medal Committee, with 73.
Ramon Sebastian topped the seniors’ (55 to 69 years old) class by shooting the best gross score for the category with his four-over-par 76 strokes.
Lowest net honors for the seniors’ class went to Manuel ‘Jun’ Zosa with 70 while runner-up honors went to Ernie Uy with 71 edging Razi Razon, Ricardo Go, and Lino Dagus in the countback.
The lowest gross honors for the superseniors’ (70 years old and above) category went to Rolly Santos with 93 while Swiss Fritz Bossart bagged the lowest net plum with 75 strokes.
Grace Bañas took home the lowest gross title for the ladies division with 97 strokes while Lucille Colina bagged the lowest net plum with 77.
In the guest division, Taiwanese Cho Chien Ming took the lowest gross trophy with 86 strokes while the lowest net award went to Senior Superintedent Edward Carranza with 76 strokes.
Special awards went to Rolando Alberto for being nearest to the pin on the 6th (1 foot) and to Jun Zosa for the most accurate drive on the 11th (1 foot and 6 inches). (pr from www.fullpointcebu.com) (FREEMAN)
