Best Center cage clinic in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines -  The BEST Center Basketball Clinic sponsored by Milo makes its annual visit to Cebu from May 12 to 17 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Mango Avenue Campus gym. This was bared by Nic Jorge, founder and President of the BEST Center, which stands for Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training.

“We are proud to visit Cebu again for another year of teaching the basics and fundamentals of the sport to both the competitive players and ordinary hobby-type players,” Jorge said.

The clinic, which is considered as one of the longest-running and widest in terms of reach nationwide, will once again entertain an expected student base of around 200 budding players and enthusiasts. It teaches the fundamentals of the sport and offers four levels for players between the ages of 9-12 years old.

Level 1 is for ball-handling, while Level 2 covers shooting. Level 3 is for defense while Level 4 is for offense. All students start at Level 1 regardless of age. A special offering this year is the maiden run of its Introduction to Basketball course for kids five to eight years old.

The BEST Center has been conducting basketball clinics for the past 36 years in partnership with Milo. Its main thrust is to provide lessons to all on the basics of basketball, a facet that has been lacking in the country. This follows the European model of basketball where players attend schools and training centers before going into competitive basketball.

This year’s nationwide tour has reached as far as Laoag and Baguio in the north and Zamboanga and Davao in the south. Among the graduates of the BEST Center include Milo’s brand endorsers Chris Tiu, Kiefer Ravena, Thirdy Ravena and Jeron Teng.
