CCF, NISSI rout foes; LW-Talisay, CFGA also win in FCA caging

EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion CCF of coach Albert Alocillo and the NISSI Jr. Ballers trounced their respective foes in the 34-under division of the  4th Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Basketball League at the old Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu old campus gym along General Maxilom Avenue, this city.

CCF launched a devastating endgame attack to turn back the ACES, 55-40, while NISSI breathed fire all game long to blow away the Cross Pointe All-Stars, 53-31.

CCF trailed by five after three quarters, 26-31, but surprised the ACES with a 29-9 blitz in the final quarter to steal the win.  Aldriane and Kareem Alocillo connived for 22 points for CCF. Jayross Ceniza was the lone double-digit scorer for the ACES with 10.

On the other hand, no NISSI player netted twin figures but its offensive assault was balanced enough to crush Cross Pointe. After closing the first half with a 17-point advantage, 28-11, NISSI sustained its momentum the rest of the way to come up with a 22-point demolition of the hapless Cross Pointe.

In the other games, Roy Quiachon fired 15 points as Living Word-Talisay escaped with a thrilling 57-56 win over Ashtec, while the CFGA Kingdom Builders, drawing 17 points from Theo Flores, unloadd a 33-21 bomb in the windup to pull the rug from under the BUCCI Zealots, 56-52.
