North vs. South Skateboard Festival rolls off Monday

CEBU, Philippines -  Extreme sport enthusiasts have something to look forward to as Positive Skateboarding in cooperation with G-Concept proudly present the North vs. South Skateboard Festival. The two-part spectacle is sponsored by Eyeberry.

The South leg will kick off on Monday at the Naga City gymnasium, while the North leg will take place on December 27 at the Lapu-Lapu City auditorium.

Registration for class A and B entries is pegged at P100, while the spectators will be charged with P50.

"I’m really amazed with our local skaters. It's their time to flaunt their talents and prove that Cebuano skateboarders can put on a highly competitive show in this kind of sport," said G-Concept top honco Jeson L. Guardo.

"I'm inviting all extreme sport buffs not only to witness this very exciting event but also to showcase their artistic skills and breath taking stunts that will surely thrill the spectators to the max," added Guardo.

Philip Jaca of Positive Skateboarding, for his part, said they aim to unite the skateboarders from the south and northern part of Cebu through this event.

"I hope this event will motivate new skaters to push their skills level to the hilt," said Jaca.

Skateboarding is slowly but surely making its mark in Cebu sports circuit. In fact, G-Concept has just successfully staged the 2nd Tisa Skateboard Competition that drew close to 50 participants last week at the Tisa Sports Complex.

“We feature events like this to encourage the Cebuano youth to take up sports and spend their time with more meaningful activities,” Guardo said.— EBV (FREEMAN)
