Dordoi FC bombs out Global Joins KRL squad of Pakistan into final stage of AFC President’s Cup

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Kyrgyzstan’s Dordoi Bishkek extinguished Global FC’s hopes of advancing into the final stage of the AFC President’s Cup after pulling off a clinical 6-1 victory over the host nation’s bets at the end of the five-day joust last night at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Dordoi, thus, proceeded into the final round of the qualifying event for the more prestigious AFC Champions Cup together with Pakistan’s KRL FC, which ended its campaign with a merciless 8-0 demolition of the hapless Yeedzin FC of Bhutan.

Global FC actually broke the ice of the match, with Carli de Murga finding the back of the net with just eight minutes gone by after the opening tip-off.

However, it was the best Global could muster as Murzaev Murlan sank back-to-back goals at the 13th and 23rd to put Dordoi on top of good, 2-1.

Dordoi continued to press the offensive that got Global's defenders in desperation, paving the way for a 3-1 lead off a free kick by Murzaev at the 54th.

Murzaev delivered another goal at the 63rd, while Shamshiev Islam made it 5-1 for Dorgio at the 76th. David Bruce Tetteh then lunged the final nail on Global’s coffin in the final minute of the contest.

Earlier, KRL head coach Tariq Lutfi just let his wards play their game and did not put any pressure on them knowing that Yeedzin are relatively greenhorns.

"I was even thinking of about just winning by as much as five goals, but we exceeded," said Lutfi.

Kaleemullah led the charge for KRL with five goals, the first one coming in the first four minutes of play. The rest he made at the 71st, 74th, 82nd and 90th. (FREEMAN)
