Dimsum Frito 2003 rallies past Jepoy ‘99 to go 4-0 in CECABA

CEBU, Philippines - Joey Catipay sizzled with 22 points as he almost singlehandedly carry Dimsum Frito 2003 to a 47-39 drubbing of Jepoy '99 in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Thursday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

It was truly a one-man show for Catipay, adding up 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals as Class 2003 coasted to its fourth straight win in as many starts. They're one of the only two undefeated teams this season after The First Family Appliance Circle '96.

Class 2003 trailed by three points early on, 6-9, but launched a spirited counter-attack in the second period, 19-8, to grab the lead at halftime, 25-17, for good.

Mark Eugene Bukiron charted 21 points on top of 12 rebounds and two steals, but his singular outburst wasn't enough as Class '99 fell to 4-3 in a tie with JV Shop n Shop, which nailed its fourth win in seven games at the expense of PTT 2005, 49-37.

No Class '97 player cashed in double figures on the offensive end, but the team effort they've shown was too much for Class 2005 to handle.

Timothie Tan had only nine points as well as Aubrey Jones Ibones, but they connived for 16 rebounds and four assists for Class '97.

Vincent Maynard Sy, Bryan Harry Labus, and Denver Dano were also a huge factor, combining for 21 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and three steals for Class '97, which was in full contol of the match from start to finish.

Class '97 led by only two at the break, 16-14, but blew the game open using a sizzling 16-6 run in the third quarter. Class 2005 never recovered from there on the way to absorbing its sixth straight loss.
