CEBU, Philippines - Six Cebu Lady Dragons hope to make the final cut for the Philippine Team that will compete in the 2012 Asian Women’s 7's Rugby Football Championships in Pune, India on October 6-7. The two-day tilt also serves as the Asia Pacific region's qualifier for Rugby World Cup Sevens 2013.

To attain such goal, Aiumi Ono, Madille Salinas, Eloisa Jordan, Lalaine Albarando, Jessica Anne Filoteo and Astrid Sadaya will take part in a training camp from September 21-23 at the Word of Life in Laguna where they will train with other aspiring players from Luzon.

Aside from that, the Lady Dragons also look forward to another 7's rugby showdown with their Manila counterparts on October 27. During their previous encounter, which is a best-of-three series, last August 25 at the Eagles Nest in Silangan, Laguna, the Lady Dragons won, making them the women's champion in the Globe 7's League.

The players for Cebu that will see action in this tournament have yet to be selected by Coach Dean, basing on the girls’ performance and commitment during training and test matches.

Then on November 27, all roads lead to the Cebu International School (CIS) for the 2012 Cebu 10s International Rugby Tournament. (FREEMAN)
