Cebu Dragons select players for PRFU 7's league

CEBU, Philippines - After a successful day of 7's rugby at the Cebu International School field over the weekend, the Cebu Dragons Rugby Club (CDRC) coaches have selected players who will be taking part in the Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) 7's Men's and Women's league in Manila on August 25 and October 20.

Aiumi Ono, Madille Salinas, Lalaine Albarando, Jessica Filoteo Beekay de los Santos, Astrid Sadaea, Bianca Canama, Monica Balofor, Luisa Jordan, Medea Mercado, and Je-an Albarando have been picked to carry the fight for the Cebu Lady Dragons.

In the men's side, Peter Sawal, Daryl Victor Alcantara, Jong Chiu, Lordcid Senorin, Jerry Branzuela, Rodney Kandie, Edmund Batiquin, Lester Loma, Odi de los Santos, Francis Mari L. Tañajura, and Frederick William Harris will compose the Cebu Dragons.

They will be coached by Dean Baker, with Rose Lanticse serving as team manager.

Sawal, Alcantara, Chiu, Senorin, Branzuela, Kandie, Batiquin, Loma, Tañajura and Harris have also been chosen to form part of the Cebu Dragons that will see action in the annual charity Fat Boys Tournament on September 1 in Angeles City, Pampanga.

They will play alongside Rammel Sumagong, Filomino Catubis, Mickey Deutsch, Marlou Luceño, and Geoffrey O. Veraces.

Branzuela, Loma, Veraces and Noel Flowers, on the other hand, have been named to the Philippine Rugby Developmental Team that will go up against the Sabah Rugby Union on July 28 in Sabah, Malaysia and against the Hong Kong developmental squad twice on August 8 and 11 in Silangan. - THE FREEMAN
