Low scores hightlight GTour in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Clients of Globe Business and officials of the telecommunications company took time out yesterday for the GTour played at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

The title for Division 1 went to the team of Jojo Tomines of Globe Business, Edwin Semilla of Fairchild, Raymond Alvin Garcia of Sun Star, and Cristino Lim of IPI.

The team fired a gross nine-under-par 63 strokes in the scramble format.

The tournament format required all members of the team to hit a tee shot and the team selects which shot they would use for their succeeding stroke.

The player, whose ball is chosen, hits his ball as it lies while the three other team members placed their ball within one club length from where the original ball was and then play their shot.

The process is repeated until the ball is holed out.

Second place for Division 1 was the team composed of Boboy Romero of Globe Business, Benjamin Garcia of Marbel Telephone System, Justin Uy of ProConnect and Profoods, and Bob Oliver of Timex.

The team fired seven-under-par 65 strokes. The team won the award after beating three others in the tie break.

The title for Division 2 went to the group composed of Jojo Antonio of Silliman University, Dr. Harris Roska of Cebu Mitsumi, Rodien Paca of Astro Ship Management, and Henry Uy of Fastcargo Logistics.
