Registration for the event set this June 10 is ongoing at the University of the Philippines Cebu High School faculty room and you can choose from three distances – 12, 6, and 3K. You can also register as a group for the 3K event and if you don’t want to get the free shirt, you can also opt to do so.
The event is a project of the alumni association of the high school. Proceeds of this event will go to the scholarship fund.
I am inviting my fellow alumni and all the running enthusiasts to sign up.

Next week, Alta Vista Golf and Country Club will be holding The View Invitational, the annual member-guest tournament.
For an entry fee of P3,500, each participant gets a pair of Nike golf shoes and a shoe bag.
If you want to join the tournament, it is just unfortunate that there are only one or two more slots left. As of yesterday morning, I learned that there were only three slots available, but one or two were taken, which means that those who took their time to decide will have to be wait listed.
For those, who don’t know the history of the name, The View became the name of Alta Vista’s signature tournament because of the awesome view from the hills of Pardo.
The view from the golf course is also one of the best consolations for those who are not playing well.
For this tournament, the view remains to be a consolation, but there are more. The tournament committee has also prepared so many raffle prizes that even the tournament losers would have no reason to be grumpy. Well, unless you really insist to be grumpy.

Those who would like to support Futbol Para sa Kapayapaan (Football for Peace) in Midsayap, Cotabato, a project of my mistah Lt. Col. Samuel Sagun of the Philippine Army, can still do so after the event on May 28 and 29.
Sam said that he is going to make this as a continuing project hoping to use to world’s most popular sport as a means to sow the seeds of peace.
The beneficiaries of the project are kids aged 6 to 12 years old and my mistah told me that two players from the Philippine Azkals – Roel Gener and goalkeeper Edward Sacapano.
Let me know if you are interested to give a hand for this worthwhile project.
