After missing the players 6 title, Don Bosco Technology Center bounced back in style, grabbing four championship trophies in the age-group categories of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
The Bosconians bowed to Bright Minds Active Learning Village in the players 6 final, but caught everyone by surprise after lording it over in the players 8 and 10 and boys 12 and 14 divisions.
DBTC-1 of coach Laurence Dave Gerali bested Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 2-0, for the players 8 title. Richard Jacob Ernst and Uriel Villacarlos delivered the winning goals for DBTC.
DBTC-4, on the other hand, frustrated SHS-AdC by the narrowest of margins, 3-2, to romp off with the champion's trophy in the players 10 class.
Coach Robert “Kidd’ Nicart, for his part, scored a double victory in boys 12 and 14.
Agustin Rafael Roa produced DBTC’s lone goal in their 1-0 conquest of the equally-talented Canduman Dedon in the boys 12 final. The Bosconians also snatched the boys 14 crown after winning all their seven games.
In the girls 17, SHS-AdC clinched the championship, while Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion-Mandaue and St. Theresa’s College finished second and third, respectively. (FREEMAN)
