Visayas leg of Colt 45 MotoROC kicks off

CEBU, Philippines - It's time for the Visayas daredevils to showcase their wares in the Colt 45 National Motorcycle Race of Champions (ROC) with the staging of the last regional leg at Kartzone today.

Only Visayas-based underbone enthusiasts will be allowed to join the race as this serves as an elimination for the national battle in Manila this December.

The said event kicked off in Marikina with the late Maico Bun as the race director. The next legs took place in Cabanatuan and Cagayan de Oro.

The company behind the event, Colt 45, sponsors this kind of undertaking as part of its corporate responsibility and advocacy that “real men don’t ride drunk”.

“Usually naririnig natin, may nadisgrasya, nabangga na naka-motor na lasing. So here, we want to send strong message to them na wag maglalasing at mag-drag race sa daan. Merong tamang lugar sa lahat kung saan pwedeng magkarera so nabuo ito,” said special projects manager AJ Navalta.

Unlike in the other races, this battle is truly a battle of champions.

The categories to be featured include the 115 stock, 160 open scooter, 125 stock, 115 open underbone, 150 open stroke and 180 open scooter.

The top performers will be representing Visayas in the national finals set on December 17 at the Quirino grandstand.

For those who just want to witness the event, admission fee is pegged at only P25 inclusive of a round of Asia Brewery beverage, free issue of MotorCycle Magazine plus a chance to win exciting prizes during the raffle draw.

Presented by Colt 45, the event is also supported by Two-wheel Enthusiasts Network Incorporated, Airphil Express, YRS Modification, Maico Buncio Foundation, Von Dutch, Suzuki Philippines, Spyder, City Park Hotel, Cebu City Tourism Council and Racing Line TV.-
