Centennial tennisfest at CTU
CEBU, Philippines - As one of the highlights of its centennial celebration, Cebu Technological University (CTU) staged the Centennial Presidential Lawn Tennis Cup 2011, which kicked off yesterday at the school’s tennis court.
University president Dr. Bonifacio Villanueva along with his partner Dr. Ponciano Bontia made an impressive start as they won the centennial match against the tandem of Dr. Victor Villaganas and Dr. Vicente Igot.
The duo of Villanueva and Bontia pummeled Villaganas and Igot via a dominating 8-2 victory.
Being a former tennis player, Villanueva showed that age was not a hindrance to win. “I started playing tennis at the age of 16 and captured various championship titles already. Until now, I always have this mentality to always play to win,” he said.
The said tournament is for all male faculty and staff of CTU and this will run until November 14 featuring three categories. (FREEMAN)
