CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana weightlifter Kelly Kaye Rojas gets another chance to shine as she will represent the country in the 2011 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships today in Thailand.
Rojas had been to several international tournaments already, but she hopes to perform better this time as this will also be a gauge for her chances in the 2011 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Indonesia this November.
Rojas will compete in the junior division.
Aside from Rojas, four other Pinoy bets are seeing action in the tournament including the Llena siblings Lea and Patricia of Nueva Ecija and the multi-titled Hidelyn Diaz and Nestor Colonia of Zamboanga.
The team will be coached by Gregorio Colonia, while Philippine Weightlifting Association, Inc. (PWAI) chairman Mark Aliño is the head of the delegation. - THE FREEMAN
