Pineda shines in Bogo motocross tourney

CEBU, Philippines - Kimboy Pineda scored a twinkill in the mud-harassed 6th leg of the 2011 MS Motosuit Motocross Series dubbed as Mayor Celestino Martinez, Jr. Motocross Cup in Bogo City.

Pineda was unstoppable in the expert and pro open categories, thanks to the rugged terrains of Mindanao that honed his skills well against Cebu’s crowd-darling John Flores.

Flores ended his quest with four second place finishes after trailing Pineda in the two premiere divisions and behind Jevin Lagrada in the intermediate and Mark Lee Frasco in the underbone class.

Jun Enriquez and Ray Quirol also had a double victory each.

Enriquez ruled the executive A over Gerry Sicad in the two divisions as Rosel Gungob came out third in the executive B and Seigfred Ornopia in the excutive A.

Quirol, for his part, dominated the local enduro and novice open enduro. Quirol won against Dong-dong Bantiquin in the local enduro and against Rap-Rap Marquez in the other class.

Gerry Sicad may have missed the executive B title but he got the executive C’s top spot.

On the other hand, Brylle Ornopia is back on his winning form by ruling the mini class 85 cc against Andres Gastador as Denmar Supatan wound up third.

Brylle’s brother, Ken, claimed second place honors in the peewee division won by Regie Pepito.

Peewee Galla bounced back from his loss in the mini class 65cc by topping the mini open as JC Pineda ruled the novice open production. – THE FREEMAN
