Pantino nets 3 titles in Truflex tennis tilt
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano netter Arthur Craig Pantino exceeded expectations after hauling three titles at the end of the 9th Truflex Age-group Tennis Championships in Alabang yesterday.
After defeating fellow Cebuano John Seno in the semifinal round, Pantino went on to pull off a major upset over seeded no.1 player Jerome Romualdez, 6-2, 6-4 to lord it over in the boys 12-under class.
Earlier, Pantino, who is coached by Bobby Soquino and sponsored by Prince, swept all golds at stake in the unisex 10-under category after dominating the singles and doubles events.
Pantino came up with an easy 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Michael Francis Eala in the boys singles.
Pantino then teamed up with Diego Dayrit and their partnership proved fruitful as they bested Michael and Alexandra Eala, 6-2, 6-1 in the mixed doubles. –(FREEMAN)
