Echavez gears up for Cebu leg of NAGT Series

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana Lorhiz Echavez eyes back-to-back wins when the Cebu leg of the 2011 SPEEDO National Age- Group Triathlon Series unfolds on April 3 at the Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.

Echavez missed the first leg in Subic but quickly made up from her absence by dominating the Davao leg over the weekend.

Echavez topped not only the female 20-29 class but also the overall standings.

Echavez showed to the Davaoeños why she was the best Filipino female elite triathlete in Xterra Off-Road Triathlon by clocking in one hour, 53 minutes and 55 seconds.

Two other Cebuanas are also slowly carving their name in this three-in-one sport. Rochelle Tan emerged third overall and second in the girls 17-19 category, while Merly Colmenares wound up ninth overall and first in the 40-above category. (FREEMAN)
