Bulacao Fiesta chess tournament draws over 100 entries

CEBU, Philippines - More than 100 chess fanatics are expected to take part in the Barangay Bulacao Fiesta Chess Tournament today at the Bulacao Sports Complex in Talisay City .

The two-day contest features seniors class B, juniors and kiddies categories.

The organizers of the 7-round Swiss system competition is open to pawnpushers who are from the first district of Cebu. For them to join, all the participants must bring valid school ID or baptismal certificate.

The champion in the seniors division will take home P1,500, while the winners in the juniors and kiddies category will receive P800 and P600, respectively. The rest of the top 10 placers will receive a consolation prize of P50 each.

The event is jointly sponsored by Powao Machine Shop (PMS) Chess Club, Inc. and officials of Brgy. Bulacao.
