CEBU, Philippines - The inaugural PLDT-Smart 10 Miler this Sunday has already exceeded its expected number of participants even before its deadline set today.
As off this writing, The Freeman learned that there are 2,293 runners registered for the event. This is close to 300 runners more than their target.
In the 16-kilometer run, there are a total of 513 entries and 435 for the 10-k.
The 5-k run has the most number of entries at 996 while the 3-k run has the least with 349.
There are still unaccounted number of runners with race bibs only that have not yet been included in the latest update from Smart.
On race day, organizers are expecting a total of 2,400 runners to see action.
For those who still want to join the action even without the official singlet anymore, deadline is set today at Runnr located in Ayala Center-Cebu, Cebu City Sports Center, Casa Ilongga at Robinson’s Place-Cebu, and at Smart’s Experience Center at SM Cebu.
Cash prizes and medals will be given to the top performers of each class. – (FREEMAN)
