CEBU, Philippines - Shell-V Rama logged its first win in four games at the expense of the San Remigio Beach Club in a low-scoring 45-37 victory last Friday in the Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association (SHABA) at the SHS gym along Gen. Maxilom Ave., this city.
From a close 33-31 lead at the end of the third period, Shell held San Remigio to just six points in the final period.
In another action of a heavy six-game schedule last Friday, Gaisano Capital won over White Gold, 79-66.
Edmund Gaisano had 26 points to lead his team while ex-USC Warrior center Robert Gilo scored 17 points in White Gold’s loss.
The Gaisano Capital Saver’s Choice defeated Jaffa, 66-61. Marcelino Co ran over RDAK, 62-43, A+structures topped Mobelhaus, 62-40 and the Goldberry spilled Nature’s Spring, 82-43.
Gaisano Capital had to make defensive adjustments at the paint where Gilo was almost unstoppable knocking in 11 points in the first quarter alone.
The change worked and Gaisano Capital posted a 20-12 rally in the second period and never looked back from there.
The team now holds a 2-2 win-loss record.
Meanwhile, Team Marcelino Co dominated the game from start to finish against RDAK as they led by 17 points at the half, 33-16.
Guards Walter Ong and Roderick Mangubat called the plays for Marcelino Co.
Ong led Marcelino Co with 17 points including six triples while Mangubat finished with 14 points.
