Yeo leads Oct. winners of Alta Vista Monthly Medal

CEBU, Philippines - Alex Yeo led the winners of the October Monthly Medal of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club played last Saturday.

Yeo fired nines of 35 and 37 for an even-par round of 72 strokes.

The best net for class A went to Dennis Canoy with his 65 off a gross 74 strokes while runner-up honors went to Toby Florendo with a net 66 and edging Edwin Espina in the countback.

The lowest gross award for class B went to went to Richard Lim with 76 strokes.

Edwin Go Lim, an 18-handicapper, fired a gross seven-over-par 79 and finished with a tournament-best net 61 to top class B. Runner-up honors went to Rene Piano with 63 beating Oscar Sanchez in the countback.

Mar Selma made 85 to win the lowest gross honors for class C. The lowest net plum for the category went to Jonathan Yu with 67 while runner-up was Mark Tan with 68 edging tournament chairman Willy Go in the countback.

The lowest gross title for the seniors’ division went to Ben Yu with 75 beating Rolando Alberto in the countback. Lowest net honors went to Alberto with 62 while Ed Sanchez was runner-up with 65.

Ericka Lim fired the lowest gross for the ladies division with 89 while the lowest net honors went to Shin Mi Sun with a net 71 besting Tessa Ozoa.

Col. Joey Reyes topped the guest division using the Blind Callaway handicapping format with a net score of 73 edging Ted Almario, who settled for the runner-up honors, in the countback.

Special awards went to Koko Holganza for his tee shot that landed 3 feet and 3 inches from the hole for nearest the pin on No. 6 and also to Toby Florendo for the most accurate drive on the 11th.—NLQ   (FREEMAN NEWS)
