CEBU, Philippines - The townsfolk of Consolacion will once again witness exciting hardcourt action every night with the staging of the Fiesta Basketball Cup starting this Sunday at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
The two-month tilt features the ABC/SK and the Inter-High School divisions. The ABC/SK category is participated in by 21 barangays pooled into seven clusters of three barangays each.
The competing squads and their respective Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairpersons are Tugbongan (Ella Mae Mendoza), Nangka (Jeoffrey Leff Pascua and Poblacion Oriental (Jon Haniel Abinales) for Cluster I, Tayud (Therese Anne Soco), Jugan (Joy Semblante), and Pitogo (Madel Hyacinth Herrera) for Cluster II, and Tilhaong (Lovebel Talisic), Lamac (Philip Noe Perez) and Cansaga (Christopher Mari Sapio) for Cluster III.
Poblacion Occidental (Mae Ausifas Mangubat), Danlag (Mary Frairose Gier) and Pulpogan (Aileen Osabel) comprised Cluster IV, Cabangahan (Michelle Ann Sabrido), Panoypoy (Joel Padayogdog) and Panas (Jenus Cenarlo) made up Cluster V, while Casili (Jennifer Jakosalem), Sacsac (Marjorie Bartin) and Tolo-tolo (Joan Herbieto) are pooled under Cluster VI.
Cluster VII is composed of Lanipga (Cheryl Gerebese), Pulog (Era Mae Cogay), and Garing (Jaffy Abamonga).
On the other hand, a total of 10 teams will vie for top honors in the Inter- High School contest namely Consolacion NHS, Jugan, Pulpogan, Tayud, Garing, Lanipga, Tugbongan, Nangka, Cabangahan, and Tolo-Tolo.
Trophies, medals and cash prizes await the top performing teams in the tournament co-presented by Association of Barangay Council (ABC) president Analee Gungob and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation (SKF) prexy Madel Hyacinth Herrera of Brgy. Pitogo.
