Cebu Blue Marlins glitter in Bohol swimming tourney

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Blue Marlins Swimming Club of coach Rolando Mendoza ruled the G-League Short Course Age-Group Swimming Competition over the weekend at the Carlos P.Garcia Sports and Cultural Complex in Tagbilaran City.

CBM bagged the title in dominating fashion owing to its unassailable 1, 116 points. Negros Oriental Blue Dolphin was a far second with 768 points followed by Silliman University with 757 points.

The University of Cebu (UC) tankers contributed 29 golds, 11 silvers and seven bronzes. Paula Abigael Vega, Noel Caneda and Pierre Nino Baguio snatched five golds apiece, while Joyce Huguete handed over two golds, a silver and a bronze.

Danre Lumapas came up with one gold, three silvers and a bronze, Christopher Paolo Zosa one gold, a silver and two bronzes, Michael David Vega with a gold and four silvers, Romylyn Nina Ignacio with three golds and a bronze, Je Rose Rosada with two silvers, and Merylyn Silva and April Mhel Angelie Garcia with a bronze each.

From Asian Learning Center, Rian Raphael Tapang chipped in three golds and a silver while his brothers Rhys Michael had two golds and three silvers and Renan Gabriel Tapang with five golds. Joebert Indaya ended with three bronzes, while his sister Karen hauled five golds.

The Navarros, who are studying at the Cebu Eastern College, saw Anthony Navarro II fishing out two golds and three silvers, Lyh Ann with four golds and a bronze, and Anthony Linn sweeping all five golds in the 11-under class.

From the University of San Carlos, Kyra Tara Ebon handed over four silvers, Kirk Tristan Ebon a gold and four silvers, and Aaron Grant Embuscado with a gold and four silvers.

USPF’s Danielle Mae Ballesteros added glitter to CBM’s campaign after seizing four golds and a bronze. Kristina Angelika Torres of 3H Childhood Center had four golds, FBC Christian School’s Michael Ichiro Kong had four golds and a bronze, St.Theresa’s College’s Patricia Mae Baguio won a silver and Southwestern University’s Albert Wong scooped three bronzes. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (THE FREEMAN)
