Congratulations to all those behind the attempt to break the world record for the biggest dance class as confirmation is out making it official.
To Edward and Eleanor Hayco, Loloi Rendon, Ricca Alix, and everyone else who put the whole thing together, more power to you!
Cebu is now officially the world’s dance capital and all the effort that have been poured to spread dancesport to every nook and cranny of Cebu is really worth it.

Many of my friends could not sleep last Sunday night. We don’t suffer from any disorder, just eager to see a 59-year-old man win the British Open. We stayed up until around 2 a.m. of Monday, but didn’t see what we hoped as Tom Watson lost to Stewart Cink in a four-hole playoff.
My good friend Michael Go told me via a text message that he felt so sad that Tom lost, which is a sentiment shared by many others.
Although I usually stay up late only when Tiger Woods is in contention, the British Open was different, because probably like the many others all over the world, I wanted to witness history happen and hoped to see Watson raise the claret jug.
It didn’t happen.
Had Watson won the title, he would have been the oldest to win a major golf tournament beating the record by 11 years.
He was very composed during the final round, but it seems that fatigue and the forces of nature at Turnberry. Had he won it would have been his sixth British Open title.
But then the golfing gods were with Cink that day. He sank a birdie putt on the 18th hole to tie Watson for the lead and Watson missed his own birdie try that could have given him the title. In the playoff, Cink had everything going his way while Watson could hardly hit the green.
It broke so many hearts that Mike said, “I was reading the columns on the Internet and they sounded like obituaries.”

The fellowship of Peemayers in Cebu, which we announced last Saturday was to be held yesterday, is happening today and that’s final.
Today’s activities will start with a golf tournament at the Mactan Island Golf Club starting at 7 a.m. There will be a shotgun tee off after the hitting of ceremonial balls to be led by Lt. Gen. Isagani Cachuela, the chief of the Central Command.
Cdr. John Garaña, chairman of the golf tournament, said that registration starts at 6 a.m. and the shotgun tee off can be held earlier if the players would be ready.
The afternoon activities will follow after the boodle fight for lunch and they would be football, basketball and badminton.
It seems that the activity has gained so much attention from the Peemayers in Cebu and the neighboring areas, who will converge here for the day-long affair.
