Cobras complete 7-game sweep

CEBU, Philippines - Although it’s already non-bearing games for them, Hotel Fortuna/SWU Cobras and Enervon/UC Webmasters were business as usual as they routed separate foes at the end of the 3rd CESAFI Partners’ Cup classifying round last Thursday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

Game today (Cordova, Cebu)

7:30 pm Ave Maria/USJ-R vs. Aerosol/USC

The Cobras completed a seven-game elimination round sweep with an 8-545 thrashing of Virginia/CIT Wildcats, while Lawrence Agas drilled in five triples of his 17 points to help the Webmasters score a 100-74 demolition of the Ave Maria Sanctuary Park/USJ-R Jaguars.

The Webmasters, thus, solidified their status as the second ranked squad behind the Cobras with a 6-1 win-loss record.

Agas, fast becoming a reliable starting guard, complimented Moncrief Rogado in offense, even as the likes of Edward Pao, June Mar Fajardo and Robinson Mohamad also made their presence felt.

Rogado posted a game-high 18 points spiked with three triples, Pao added 13, while Fajardo and Mohamad had 12 points each.

Rookie Kurt Amores led the Jaguars with 14 points.

Earlier, Eliud Poligrates and Alfred Belande charted 16 points apiece to spearhead the Cobras’ nearly flawless assault against the disoriented Wildcats.

The Wildcats were led by Karen Rick de la Cerna with 11 points followed by Sherwin Abobo with 10.
