CEBU – Team Vernel and Sitio Colveta pummeled separate foes to even their win-loss records to 3-1 in the Better Run Basketball Association (BRBA) Sinulog Cup last Sunday at the Ma. Gochan Sports Complex in Brgy. Mambaling, this city.
Former UV Lancers standout and commmercial veteran Danny Duran figured prominently as Vernel slammed Conor, 86-71, while Sitio Colveta defeated Left-Over, 100-89. In the final match of the day, the Cavs demolished the Bucks, 95-63.
Five Vernel players cashed in twin digits led by hotshot Mon Ceballos with 20 points followed by elusive guard Michael Arias with 13.
Egang Tabalin and Junrey Ledesma were the topscorers for the Conor with 19 and 17 points, respectively.
Walas Vergara, on the other hand, hauled 31 points while Tikboy Tradio nailed 30 points to spearhead Colveta. The Left-Over were led by the tandem of Dodong Millior and Tata Salasa with 54 points combined.
Ruel Sestoso charted 30 points for the Cavs.
