4th Ms Motosuit Motocross Series: Adlawan nails back-to-back expert titles
CEBU - Jon-Jon Adlawan notched back-to-back victories in the 4th MS Motosuit Motocross Series via the second leg dubbed as the “1st Agujo Motocross Challenge” over the weekend in Barangay Agujo of the northern most town of Cebu mainland Daanbantayan.
Inspired by the trust and support recently given by MS Motosuit, manufacturer of quality seat covers for cars and motorcycles, Adlawan put up a great show and went too much for his opponents to wrest his second straight expert crown in the race co-presented by Castrol Philippines.
Rex Barbaso settled for the second place honors, while Weng Yapparcon came up with another third place finish.
Adlawan’s namesake, John-John Flores, who is also an official endorser of MS Motosuit, caught part of the spotlight as he topped the novice open production by edging out equally-talented riders in Keith Galaura and the reigning “Rider of the Year” Seigfred Ornopia.
After an impressive start, Ornopia turned out to have a bad day as he failed to take home a champion’s trophy. The younger brother of event organizer and MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia was outsmarted by Jun Enriquez in executive A.
Ornopia’s sons Brylle and Kerry also missed the top spot, with both of them landing only third in their respective class.
The peewee open was dominated by Leyte’s Peewee Galla as RJ Pepito, son of leg organizer Malou wound up second.
RJ Pepito though got even with Galla by lording it over in the peewee 7-under category.
Ted Conde, formerly tagged as the “Wonderboy of Ozamiz City”, claimed the intermediate title. The Daanbantayan race was very memorable for the Team Quickflight Racing mainstay as he did not only take home a trophy, but also walk down memory lane at the place were he spent his childhood.
Pamorca, who raced under BJ Pepito Racing, occupied the second spot followed by Yapparcon.
Conde’s teammate Keith Galaura bounced back from his defeat to Flores by reigning supreme in the beginner’s open production after a tough ride against Donkey Sanchez and Ryan Querol.
Nonoy Reluya, on the other hand, is back on the winning track as he ruled the executive B. Tata Omoli dominated the executive C in the event supported by Daanbantayan Mayor Sun J. Shimura and Agujo Brgy. Capt. Wendel Rosell in association KEIZ BJ Motor Sales, RMO Motorcycle Accessories,Cebu Reliance Motor Parts, GAIB Fork Oil, MS Unlimited, MS Digital Prints, and BJ Pepito Racing. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
