Enervon C-UC, Lion Tiger- USC chalk up opening day wins

-

Cebu - First, Enervon C-University of Cebu were grateful that Elvin Labares of CDO Idol-USPF fouled out of the game.

Second, UC took advantage of CDO Idol-USPF’S faulty endgame to carve out an 84-81 victory yesterday at the start of the 3rd CESAFI Partner’s Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.

Labares and Jeffrey Laurente were a pain in the neck for UC until the former fouled out.

In the final two minutes of the game, CDO Idol-USPF were leading 81-79 only to allow Kelvin Quilantang to sneak in a jumper to tie the count.

In the return play, and with 54 seconds in the clock, USPF couldn’t buy a basket and after UC rebounded the ball, Jansen Abella made it 83-81.

USPF squandered another crack at the basket and UC easily took possession. Fajardo then powered his way inside, got a foul and split his charities for the final tally.
