CEBU - Poblacion Oriental and Lamac waxed hot right from the start to scorch their respective rivals in the 2008 Consolacion Fiesta Cup Inter-Barangay Basketball League at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
Poblacion Oriental, which is considered among the early title favorites, spared no mercy against Lanipga, 102-85, while Lamac easily dismantled Polog, 99-68.
Once again, the Malagar brothers spearheaded Poblacion Oriental’s offensive onslaught accounting for 80 percent of the team’s total output. Louie Malagar finished with 21 points, while Elbert, Landy and Lemer connived for 42 markers.
In the other game, Pitogo dispatched Danglag, 89-82.
The three-month contest, which is one of the highlights of Consolacion’s annual town fiesta on October 29, is organized by Vice Mayor Ember V. Alinsug with technical support from event coordinator Paul Alelu V. Flores, a former star of FEU Tamaraws during his UAAP days.
