CTP beats Three-B in Punta Princesa caging

CEBU - The Metro Cebu Uptown Jaycees-sponsored CTP squad led by Reeve Jumawan nipped the hard-fighting Three-B of Bebot Bucton, 102-99, in the Punta Princesa Sports Association (PPSA) Businessmen Cup at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

Rodrigo Bruzon and ex-pro Teroy Albarillo scored crucial baskets in the dying sconds of the match to bail CTP out of danger.

Bruzon, a former CIT Wildcat, topscored for CTP with 19 points, while Albarillo had 16 points. Lou Regidor, another former pro who is presently assistant coach of M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Jewelers, and Jeremy Huang cashed in 15 markers apiece.

Three-B was actually ahead by five at halftime, 50-45, behind the threesome efforts of Reggie Licanda, Frankie Lastimoso and Randel Roncal but failed to sustain its momentum when the game was on the line.

Roncal had 31 points for Three-B, while Licanda and Lastimoso netted 24 and 15 markers, respectively.
