Chester Enterprises '82/83 pulled off a 59-50 upset over the undermanned Dewfoam '88 to gain a free ride into the Division 1 finals of the Cebu Eastern College Alumi Basketball Association's 10th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup on Tuesday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Class '82/83 actually figured in a three-way tie with Class '88 and Class '91 with similar 2-1 win-loss records at the end of the semifinal round.
Class '82/83 and Class '91, however, posted the top two highest quotient to book a best-of-three championship battle for the Division 1 title beginning today at 7:30 pm. Afterwhich, Class '95 and Class '96 will kick off their own race-to-2 duel for the Division 2 crown at 9 pm.
It was a disappointing debacle for the heavily favored Class '88, which performed miserably without its star center Ricky Yu.
Stephen Tan scattered 17 points, while Samuel Co and Edwin Lim each had 12 markers for Class '82/83, which was in complete control after taking an early 16-13 lead.
Class '82/83 completed the stunner by outscoring Class '88 in the final half, 28-21.
Gregorio Aguilar had 11 points and Melton Dy added 10, but none of them could fill up the huge void left by Ricky Yu as Class '88 now headed to a timely seaside driving.
