The Lapu-Lapu Chiefs outgunned the Danao City Pistols, 91-64, to draw first blood in their best-of-three semifinal series in the 1st Cebu Inter-City Cup basketball tournament on Friday night at the Lapu-Lapu City covered court.
The Chiefs, who closed the elimination round with an 8-2 win-loss record, hope to book a finals ticket via a 2-0 sweep when they invade the Pistols’ lair tonight at the Danao City Sports and Civic Center.
It was like a stroll-in-the-park victory for the Chiefs, who met only little resistance from the Danao visitors.
Jarjar Degamo paced the Chiefs with 25 points followed by Orly Amores and Michael Asoro with 18 and 17 markers, respectively. The fourth Chief to finish in double figures was Adonis Morata with 10.
The other semifinal showdown features the Bogo Bogoys against the Talisay Aquastars. (GGM)
